Self-Study
Every 5 Years each IB World School conducts a year-long audit of their programme and reviews the areas in which they excel and areas they wish to improve for the next Self-Study
St. John Paul II is undergoing our Self-Study Review with the completed portfolio of documents to be submitted June 1, 2019. This will be our third Self-Study following successful submission in 2009 and 2014
Areas to Highlight from our Review
- Our commitment to excellence in teaching, far exceeding IBO professional development guidelines and an emphasis on ATT (approach to teaching)
- Our vibrant and dynamic CAS programme
- Our relationships with outside community partners including SSLN (Student Success Learning Network with 6 of our elementary feeder schools, Toronto Public Library, the University of Toronto at Scarborough, Malvern Community Resource Centre, Pan Am Centre, 7 Oaks and Centennial Hospital
- Collaborative time or planning and backward design
- Continued excellence in the area of promoting and celebrating international-mindedness and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile
- Support systems with the DP including an IB dedicated Guidance Counsellor, IB Coordinator, CAS/EE Coordinator, and events such as De-Stress, Parent Information Events, University/College Fair, and Honour Ceremony
- Curriculum design with the IB Pathways best preparing our students for post-secondary studies
