ABOUT US
St. John Paul II is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School that encourages students to be knowledgeable, caring and inquiring, while trying to create a better future through an intercultural understanding of the world. SJPII is one of three schools in the TCDSB which offer the IB Diploma Programme (DP), and the only TCDSB school in Toronto's east to offer it.
Our school's program is specifically tailored to help students prepare themselves for university and their overall education, with the IB Learner Profile in mind. Students "test the waters" in Grade 10 in our early enrichment programme, to see if the IBDP is fit for them. Students will then carry on in our IB Programme in Grades 11 through 12 to complete the DP towards an IB diploma, or take certain subjects within the IB curriculum to work towards IB certificates.
Whether the student wishes to complete the entire Diploma Programme or specific subjects to achieve an IB certificate, the SJPII IB programme helps prepare students to put their best foot forward for their post-secondary career.
